"Breaking out in sweat following an aborted research session, harsh neon light, fog on the horizon, a sense of displacement as the elixir of life, the same old nightmare of having been run over by a cyclist. CC – the Campo Cervino in Sezze, south of Rome; on it two dream houses adorned with lightning bolts, patterned on the temple of Jupiter from the first century before Christ in nearby Terracina, one of the first structures to be built from Roman cement. The centuries old imprint left behind by the wooden scaffolding can be seen and felt as if it were just yesterday. An exposed brain viewed from above with the skin peeled back and a laterally distorted Ueli Etter wedged between its two halves, standing in front of his Hollywood apartment in 1995. A gymnast bending his torso forward touches the floor with his left palm. In the lower half of the image, the silhouette of my hair and forehead on the invitation for the Since I’ve been blond, I’ve been dyeing my hair exhibition at the Galerie Zwinger, Berlin 1989."
