"Three women in a mail-order catalog turn their backs to the viewer and look to a desert horizon. At a time when coffee still flowed in a triangle. Means of communication experience their greatest power in the act of rejecting communication. Where everyone is equal, only the mafia can enforce hierarchies. You have to seal yourself off and be unreachable, that is one of it's ingredients. When always the same story is to be told - and the producers of narrative cinema insist on this premise - it only depends on who tells it and pockets the royalties. Thus, the door is wide open for nepotism and the dictatorship of actors. Peculiarities and social relevance can then only be expressed by money, the bearers of money themselves become icons. A representative system of pictoral representation rotating in itself. The audience counts as thoroughly analyzed and does not participate in the construction of a story. It has mutated to an eternal source of capital." (From: arsenal, february 10).

(1976)
